This one has been in the works for more than a year! :y:

Unfortunately, Kyle had to bail at the last minute due to emergency pumpkin-surgery. From the photos I've seen on social media, it was a success. Nothing a diaper and some pain killers couldn't fix. Regardless, it made the trip a little less entertaining than it would have been if he was able to join us. :-({|=

Tonopah is a historic mining town somewhere in Nevada. There's a cool hotel that's over 100 years old and was refurbished by a couple from Sonoma, CA with roots nearby. The same couple also opened Tonopah Brewing Company, a surprisingly good restaurant and decent brewery. :)

On the other end of town is the historic Tonopah Cemetery, with some amazing history from 1901-1911. Most of the graves are marked with a wooden headstone with a metal plaque identifying the deceased along with the cause of death. It's actually quite an interesting historical site.

Adjacent to the cemetery is the world-famous Clown Motel. Again, I can't explain how disappointed we were that Kyle wasn't able to be with us for this one. The anticipation he had expressed for this is really indescribable. We'll have to make another trip here when the stitches have been removed. : rambo :

So the motel is next to the cemetery and of course is haunted. Duh. As is the Mizpah, which is visited by a woman who was friendly with the miners in days gone by, but was murdered on the 5th floor of the hotel. There's all kinds of history about this place. I won't bore you with it, but if you find yourself visiting here, you may want to do a bit of research first.

So much better than that other city in Nevada that people go to.
