I drove my low clearance vehicle about 4.1 miles down FR684, without any problems. I decided to park on the side of the road on a flat area just 3 feet off the road. We followed the mapped route, but counter-clockwise. The last 1/4 mile to the peak was pretty brutal. I ended up climbing a 30-40 foot steep rock area with pretty solid foot and hand grips. If it were anything steeper and I would have looked for a better route. I thought this might have been the "wall" this hike was named after but later realized it was not. Since the GPS is only accurate to about 30 feet it was hard to tell if this was the same route others took. The real "rock wall" that this peak was likely named after was about 10 minutes from the peak the way we approached it. We figured it was some kind of divider used to keep grazing cattle from getting off a piece of land. Because we didn't start this hike until nearly 1 pm, we were losing daylight fast near the end. On our approach down, we saw a jeep road in the distance and just shot for that. Thanks to some hunters in a passing pickup truck who offered to give us a ride back to the main road, we got back to our car a little faster. The ride seemed like 1 mile away, maybe longer. We got back to the car about 30 minutes earlier because of them! All in all it was a great hike on Black Friday. I just wish we would have started earlier.

Bagging this peak was a very pleasant surprise for a workday. Nearly all of the close options are those that appeal least during snake season, but this one panned out really well. Aside from that, there’s not much more to add beyond what I already mentioned in the Description; short ‘n’ sweet for once. :)
