Evening hike to see Graham's first snow of the season.
I started from the golf course and entered the flat from the back.
Did a little amateur archeology while out there then reentered the golf course at sunset.
Took in the snow capped mountain views for a bit before leaving.
Winter is now here!

Evening hike starting from the golf course.
New route on this one taking me more north into the flat and half looping the golf course.
Had to cross over way too many barbed fences, only 1 single small tear to the pants :y:
Arrived at the native ruins I came to see and found them freshly pot hunted ... again.
Poked around a bit finding more new unseen artifacts before re-entering the golf course and sitting by the pond with the ducks for sunset.
Love our winters out in the flats!

Entered the Flat via Mt Graham golf course.
Visited some of the prehistoric sites then looped back around to the golf course.
Ran into only the 2nd rattlesnake of the season.
Just a very nice evening desert hike!

Sunrise start,
From Frye Mesa Rd :next: down to the golf course ruins :next: across the flat to the ranch :next: back to Robinson Rd :next: back up to Frye Mesa Rd.
Lots of new looting at the ruins, there always is.
Explored new areas to the south, found lots of water diversion dams.
Off-trail zig zag back out.
Done by 10am
:)

Explored the ranch road just north of the flat.
The road led me to an active corral full of horses & mules.
I then took one of the big washes back.
Off-trailed across the desert a bit before heading home.
Felt like a 100 at 10am ..... body just not ready for the heat yet.

Afternoon/sunset hike out at the flat.
Never set foot on the flat, instead came out to hike the western mesa top.
There is a lot of cool prehistory across the mesa.
I saw many agave cultivation rings, water diversion walls & a new petroglyph.
Lots of cloud cover this evening that broke up right before sunset, sunset was 4/10.
Good hike, cool finds, great evening scenery of the mountain.

I love hiking this flat, I never know what I'm gonna find out there ..... good or bad!
The Good - Spring Canyon wash was flowing good, lots of cool pottery at the ruin spread, found a cattle tank that I never knew about off trailing, found some good downed mesquite wood to bring home for art projects, found a future campsite, and as always ..... the magnificent Pinaleno/Mt Graham views to the west!
The Bad - Very recent looting at the ruins, but this is really nothing new. These ruins are very well know and have been pot/artifact hunted for a very long time. Lost of new illegal dumping including many deer carcasses.

Always something new to discover at Robinson, I'll be back!
