Had a great walk today on one of my favorite trails within the city of Redding, it’s most scenic trail. The Carr fire crossed the trail at the two mile mark. Before the fire the fall colors were beautiful now since the Fire it kind of robbed us of that color. But it is still a great walk. Good for families to enjoy the outdoors.

First time biking this, part of the Mayor MTB Challenge. It rained all day the day before, and I didn't realize this would mean all the plants would be wet and throw water at me during the ride. Despite the wetness, the trail went well. It got a bit technical near the end, so I had to get off my bike a couple times.

It's been a while since I've biked this part of the river trail, but I think I'll start to revisit this section more often. I began at Heart Rate Hill and rode along the most hilly parts of the river trail. I think next time I'll continue on to Shasta Dam, which is fairly level the remainder of the ride. Fantastic views of the river, and fun hills to bike on!

Beautiful day out for a bike ride, and the river is no longer flooding the Sacramento River Trail. Earlier in the week the trail was completely flooded and not usable since they were letting so much water out from Shasta Dam. Now the water is just low enough to access the trail again which made for great scenery. The creeks were full and the sky was blue with clouds. There are some nice picnic tables near Ribbon Bridge where we ate lunch and played checkers with rocks since the picnic table had a board built in. Plenty of people around enjoying the great weather, lots of dogs too.

Adding this as a trip so I can add some pictures to use for the Sacramento River Trail description. This was a very long bike ride for me, extremely rewarding and exhausting. I wasn't planning on going so far, but I was enjoying it so much I just couldn't stop.
