I’m odd sort. I’ve been excited to get back to the Cerbat system for over 10 years  Every time we go to Vegas we drive by this system and I say one of these days. My wife actually helped out by scheduling a day in Kingman while we were vacationing just so I would have a chance to visit this system. I hadn’t realized that most of these trails are not described in HAZ so there was a little more worked involved. Got to the TH around 5am. It’s been 10+ years, but I feel they shrunk the parking area considerably. I’m pretty sure the entire dirt area was open for parking and now it’s limited to about 12 spots. I noticed as I drove in that they are starting their I-11 corridor improvement. It hasn’t gotten to the TH yet, but there is likely to be a massive impact when it does.

I wanted to do something new and one of the best trails to do from Coyote Pass is the Foothills Rim Trail. I did the loop going CCW and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to follow and of the views offered. There were no use trails of significance to lead you astray and all junctures (until the end) were well signed. The trail is very exposed, no shade whatsoever, so it is definitely an early morning or fall/winter hike. I did all of what I think is the Foothills Rim Trail, though there is some question at the end. There was no signage where the Foothills meets Monolith Garden.

Great hike. Temps were in the 70’s. Trails to myself except for 1 biker. No wildlife.
