| no partners | | Guests staying at the privately owned Spider Rock Campground are permitted to hike along a nice trail to the rim of Wild Cherry Canyon, one of Canyon de Chelly's many side canyons cut into the Defiance Plateau.
I enjoyed a quick morning explore and continued along the rim a bit beyond where the trail finally disappeared and I hadn't seen a cairn in a while. There's an alcove with a ruin on the opposite wall of the canyon and when I returned to the campground I asked the campground owner if it had a name. He informed me that the ruins had not previously been known and that they should bear my name as the discoverer! 
Just another reason to stay at Spider Rock Campground. They're good people!  |
