| no partners | | Visited the Swasey Recreation area which has mtb trails for all levels of riders. There is a "Redding Mayor MTB Challenge" going on right now which is a self-competition that covers trails for different levels of riders. I'm trying to hit all the beginner trails, so today I did the Swasey Flatlands trail, and added Meiner's Loop because I wanted to go a little farther. This is a popular area (for Redding) for bikers, there were 5 or 6 cars in the parking lot.
The ride went well, but there was one very short steep downhill part that was pretty rocky. I took it really slow, which I think just made it more difficult. Hopefully this will get easier over time.
