Originally I was planning on doing a loop, but the weather started turning, so decided to have lunch at the Eagles Nest, then ride the gondola down to Vail. I was hoping on catching the Vail transit bus back to Minturn, but they only run every two hours.

I am in great favor of a gondola ride or zip line trip option down every peak. 👍

Morning hike with my daughter and the dogs up to Lionshead Rock. On the way down we picked thimbleberries for about 45 minutes. There were numerous berry pickers this morning. This is the first time I had picked these berries. Lots of time for only a little over two cups of berries.

When we returned to my daughter’s house we made Thimbleberrie Jam, and canned it. It is mighty tasty.

Solo hike today, Joseph is feeling the two 14er’s last week and is in need of some rest days. Lower segment of Cougar’s Ridge is covered in berries. Will have to return soon and gather some for breakfast.
