It's a pretty short hike, but very steep with a lit of loose rock. It's also very overgrown, so we weren't able to stay on the trail the entire way.
We got up to what I think is the high point on the trail at an overlook. Then as we headed on, we noticed that the trail faded away. I checked the track I had, and we were way off, and several feet down a steep, overgrown hill. We decided to keep heading downhill until we got to where the trail came back downhill.
Once we were back on the trail, we tried to head uphill again to Prozorica, a rock formation with a windowlike hole in it. Unfortunately, we started to lose the trail again and it was getting steep and loose again. The kids only had their tennis shoes and shorts on, and the heat and humidity was building, so we decided to cut our losses. My 14 year old nephew really wanted to get to Prozorica, so he was kind of disappointed. He's been before though, so it wasn't so bad.
Once we got back down to the road, we walked back to the trailhead, which was only a quarter mile. |
