What a way to beat the crowds! For all those HAZ'ers who avoid trails with constant traffic, this is the (short) trail for you. The high clearance (definitely required) really keeps the masses away. We had to switch to 4WD on one section or we wouldn't have made it up a hill covered in shale with a couple of bumps just before the top. Later the road tilted us sideways for a long stretch of red sand road cut into a deep channel. -But enough about the road.
The hike was easy and there was a large pool of water just below the arch. The basin on the other side was fun for the kids to explore too. The view from this area was excellent, and looked back over the Balanced Rock, the Windows, and the La Sal mountains covered in snow.

Not too hot for this, but another few degrees may have made it pretty toasty as there's no shade.
