I took a day trip out to the small island of Mykines today, where I hiking up some steep, slippy, muddy cliffs to observe puffins and gannets in a ramsar site. Although I was winded (SO STEEP), it was absolutely beautiful. The puffins are adorable, and the island itself is a fascinating mix of rolling grasslands and steep, rocky cliffs. A few sheep followed us on the path, and at one point a family of geese thought we were stalking them. XD Some cold, hard rain cut our adventure short, but luckily there is a cafe with delicious hot soup and waffles in the island village.
