To start we headed down the trail/cross country ski route and then took what was a probably a horse trail up to Lake Louise as we passed some stables just prior to the hotel. A little muddy but it wasn't too bad. On the way back we just walked along the road back to the car. Once at the lake we took the Plain of Six Glaciers trail past the teahouse all the way to its end. There were clouds but also some blue skies. Most importantly no smoke like last year when we couldn't see anything. On the way back, we took the trail to Lake Agnes and its teahouse. You get some great views of Lake Louise from this trail as being above the lake really makes the lake color come alive. Passed Mirror Lake on the way back before joining the lakeside trail again close to the hotel. A long 13 mile day for us but the scenery made it all worthwhile. |
