| no partners | | The associated meandering track shows a day's hiking and visiting of Plitvice (PLEET-veet-seh) N.P. in Croatia, which is (in Rick Steve's words) "one of Europe's most spectacular natural wonders." It is also one of Europe's most visited destinations. You won't get any privacy or solitude here, but that can't keep you from visiting this stunning place. The park has 16 lakes and countless waterfalls with absolutely clear water. Its location is not easy to get to from any of the major cities, but try to get there early to avoid the worst crowds, or start in mid afternoon. There are several hotels in the park, which will give you a head start. The track starts/ends in the parking lot and includes a ferry ride on one of the lakes to get to the north area.
