I had planned on doing this on the 1st but a different peak caught my eye. There was a summit register from 1998 and about a dozen or so entries in it. I knocked down the summit cairn which was 20 years old, so not historical. It also wasn't where the register was. Nice views of the lake.

Planned out a route bagging four Lists of John peaks. It was a great morning to be out. Not too cold, certainly not too hot. In order of difficulty beginning with easy to hard would be 2318, Cholla, 2334 and 2340.

Frankly, 2340 is the type of peak that a year and a half ago that I would have aborted. Although there isn't really any exposure, though the peak is small it is very steep and literally no way to get your footing. It's some of the worst scree that I've ever seen as far as your feet sliding. But I found a way. Mainly using what I call my Tarzan method, where I just try and find connective palo verde bushes to move between, using the bushes as leverage.

On the way down from 2340, I saw a functioning (appeared to be) vacuum cleaner in a wash without a mark on it. It appeared to have just been placed there.

Weird.

Saw two wild burro and a cow.
