we took a day to go out to Whistler

we stopped and checked out Brandywine Falls on the way, which was quite impressive!

we hiked Cheakamus Lake in Garibaldi Provencial Park. for a modest effort the payoff is pretty big. first half is a very pleasant hike through a splendid forest. as you get nearer the lake, you come upon the river draining out of it, which is awesome. once you hit the lake, views open up and it is magnificent. the lake has a gorgeous turquoise color and is bordered by dense pines with snowy alpine peaks behind it. hiked along the north shore for a couple miles and found a wonderful secluded little picnic spot along the beach.

weather was perfect. saw just a few people.

went and hit up whistler village afterwards. just an awesome place in general and wonderful day
