| no partners | | I didn't even know that this mountain had a name, but it appears it does. Recently three geocaches were hidden, one each on the end of Mt. Ochoa and another on a small hill just to its south. Those were my motivation for this walk.
I started at the north end of 51st Ave, just to the south of the CAP canal. Crossed the bridge over the canal, climbed over the barrier and continued from there.
This is state trust land, so a recreation permit is needed to be legit. I hear that the land may have been sold and will be developed in the next few years. That wouldn't surprise me with the huge semiconductor plant under construction to the north and talk of developing 43rd, 51st, and 67th off of the 303.
A small rain shower occurred just before I started so it was cool and fresh smelling though absolutely nothing was wet. |
