I did this nice trail loop in the morning, starting near the kayak launch on the East river, walking a trail to the River Lea historic house, then connecting with a road with Beaver Island State Park, walking through the park and then talking the Spaulding trail back to my starting point. My Dad started with me and was able to walk 1.5 miles.

Did a counter-clockwise loop from a parking area toward River Lea historic house, then North to the Kayak launch area / Golf course maint. building. Then West to the park entrance, South to the Marina, East along the beach/boardwalk area and back to the starting point. Temps were perfect. I saw a few rabbits, one grass snake, several birds, etc. My Dad did a short walk but was not able to walk with me this time due to a bad case of sciatica, but at least he was able to walk for 15 minutes at a slower pace.

Today is Sept 11, 2024. It's been 23 yrs since 9/11/2001. We will always remember the victims of this day and the heros who saved people and were involved in the cleanup/recovery. The whole World needs to know about the terrorist cowards involved in this attack!!! It will live in infamy!

Did this scenic walk with Kim C. starting around 1:30 pm. Started near golf course maintenance, hiked through the woods to River Lea historic house, then down the main road past the golf course, around to the main entrance, and back down the Spaulding trail to the starting point. Weather was warm but comfortable.

Did this solo hike after dinner and finished just after dark. Into the park, passing the marina, beach, and through the picnic area of the park. I believe I was hiking the final mile after dark but there were some street lights and nearly a full moon which provided good enough visibility.

Did this solo hike before sunset on a very nice day. Stayed on the outskirts of the park. Hiked down Ferry Rd. to the West river viewpoint and turned around from there.

Did this walk with my Dad that I have done many times. Started off at the golf course maintenance lot, walked through the woods to the park entrance, along the bike path, past the golf course, down to the marina, along the beach boardwalk, past the River Lea Historic Building, then through the woods to the starting point. We saw a crane (bird) on the river. Life guards were working at the beach, and there were a few people on the beach throwing balls, but nobody in the water. Way too cold to be the water today, in my opinion, but I assume the workers just have a fixed schedule regardless of weather. High temp was 66 today which is cooler than normal for this time of year. There was rain in the morning, but it cleared out in the afternoon. Saw some lily pads in the water near the starting point.

Did this solo walk/hike which ended up being a big loop around Beaver Island State Park. Also did some exploration of some less known trails branching off the Spaulding trail. High temp 68, Overnight low 50, Humidity: 52%, Wind: 5 MPH NE. Highs will be in the 80s this coming weekend and mid 70s during the week which is slightly higher than the average for this area.

I hiked a loop around Beaver Island State Park (about 3.5 miles total) plus a little extra. AEG was only 50 feet! But this hike offers a lot of scenery including trails through the woods, several picnic areas with rain shelters, the historic River Lea house, a public beach, a boardwalk, a marina, a golf course, kayak launches, and more.
