Belated post. I did this hike on our last day in Ruidoso. I needed something that I could do quickly before checkout and this trail fit the bill. It was close by, not too long and right next to the Fitness Trail which I had done the day before. Got to the TH around 6am but had to wait almost 15 minutes for my Garmin to hook-up with a satellite. ](*,) Easy trail with only minor elevation gain. It passes through a gate and does some minor climbing as it wraps its way up the side of a hill. Nice, in that, it climbs up the backside of the hill, leaving the road and nearby businesses. Forested area, so it was nicely shaded (especially in the morning and I imagine the evening). The trail was a little rocky on some of the inclines but was otherwise a solid single track. Went to the end of the trail and turned around. (There is an Upper Jerryactrics Trail that ties into this, so a lasso option was available, but I stayed with the Lower). Surprised. I had the trail to myself and no wildlife. We had driven the Cedar Creek Road the day before and saw over 50 deer and 3 elk and I thought for sure I would have company on the trail. Not to be. Always nice checking out a new trail.
