This a nice little hike close to the visitor center of Denali National Park. There are a few places you can start this hike. Like the visitor center. There is also a trailhead and small parking area just after the railroad tracks on the right side on Park road. That is before the visitor center and the shortest route. From the parking area walk towards the train tracks and turn left and follow the tracks a short distance. You will see the sign pointing across the tracks. Be safe and cross the tracks and enjoy the hike. A small climb, then views of the lake then you lose 250 ft. of elevation. Not much elevation change after that until the climb out :o :D . After the climb down it's a nice loop around a Beaver Pond/lake and some views of the Nenana River. Didn't see the Beaver's but the Dam was pretty cool. Really enjoyed this hike and got to see my first Moose and second, third, and fourth! Two and Three were the babies of the first one I saw. The Fourth was from another mother that I heard was close by but never saw. Just a very enjoyable outing!!
