| partners | | We spent the day checking off some destinations that have been on the back burner for quite some time.
First up, was Arcosanti. I've driven past it a hundred times saying... one of these days...
I lined up the first tour of the day at 9:30. I acquired 2 free tickets, going through my local library using the cultural pass, saving $50.00 for both of us. The tour was interesting, glad we did it, also glad I didn't spend $50. After the tour, I did what they call the Visitor Trail. Nothing special, but was able to get some better overviews of the property.
Next up was the Verde Valley Archaeology Center and Museum. We'd tried to get in here before, but did not make the 3pm last entry time. We took our time going through the exhibits and videos. If you are into this stuff, it's worth a stop. Nice pottery, textile, mineral, weapon, tools and history exhibit. Relatively inexpensive to get in here. Once again you could get a cultural pass from your library. (Only one cultural pass (for 2) at a time can be checked out)
As part of the VVAC and M, was a trail a short drive away. The Native American Heritage Pathway was advertised as part of the previous stop. Not a whole lot to see here. The garden area was my favorite part. There is no fee to hike/walk this.
A stop on the way home at the Rock Springs for some pie finished off the day. Deb went for the Jack Daniels Pecan, I went for the Blueberry. |
