Climb day with Todd and Sarah. Set up top rope on Mama's Boy then worked on some other routes in that group of spires.

last minute invite from mike and fletch to climb at queen creek canyon
ended up at the mine area
warmed up on ride the wild, in lower looner
hiked up to magma gardens and did four climbs there
nice to hit a new area :)
mike led everything, i did everything on toprope, fletch did one climb then rested a couple of aches and pains
only my third time outside this year, and it always takes me a climb to get the feel of rock
got everything clean but roto evaporator, taking a short hang - doable next time
a little windy and cool at first, but warmed up nicely when out of the wind and in the sun
fun day as always with those two

Still part of AMC Basics course. Linked are the three named routes of the six that I attempted today (we had a lot of ropes up). Made it up Wake and Bake and halfway Vein, didn't do so hot on Babysitters. Also played near Superman and in the chimney right of Y Take. Forearms still shot from yesterday, one day I'll learn to trust my feet. Beautiful area with lots of shade to work with.

Been awhile since my last outing with Todd and Sarah. Good to meet up with them and catch up. We met up at the mine area parking lot and walked out to Magma Gardens.

Tried 4 different routes on top rope after following leads by Todd or Sarah. Sarah kicked our asses on Rancid. Todd and I couldn't quite figure out the crux before exhausting our arms. Sarah made it look easy.

 Mama'a Boy Goes Home 5.5
Took my son Justin (9yo) and my girlfriends son Chris (18yo) out for some climbing. Put them on Mama's Boy. Hiked around the Looner and Magma areas.
