 The Wave V0Boulder
Played around on a few of the problems. Mostly just V0's for me, but there was a V2 somewhere with a crack in it that I tried out for a few feet. Ended up going to the Canyon and finishing a V0 there a few times. Kept trying it over and over because I wanted to try doing it without using the offwidth crack to the right, or without sitting on the bulge... it was like I was trad climbing a boulder problem. But hey, I got up it so it counts, right?

We went in to Prescott for some mead at the meadery (YUM!) and then camped at Wolf Creek. Had a really nice fire and then slept in the back of the Taco. Headed out to the Overlook in the morning for some trad.

 The Wave V0Boulder
A fun trip to Prescott with my 6yr old daughter (lilhikergirl04) I may just be partial but I think there could be some real talent there. ;) Drove up late with AZPRIDE and we all camped out near by. There were 2 guitars (one classic and one pink) by our makeshift fire. The crew had a fun day playing on the boulders. In the end, if she hadn't accidentally left this camera up there at the crag then I probably wouldn't have met Prescott native climber's Dane and Daniel. When I got the camera back these were the shots she had captured. :) Note this is the same camera that go soaked in my first Jug trip.

Bouldering.
Such a rare and BEAUTIFUL place! An entire area filled with amazing boulders and hundreds of V0 to V3 routes. It's almost unheard of, to have that many beginning to moderate routes in one area. This area should be called a boulder's playground. The Wave was by far the most popular route, an aesthetic flake-style crack on the side of a large granite boulder with great moves and a cruxy finish. I think EVERYONE got there photo on 'The Wave.' Everyone attempted the route but not everyone finished it, the crux move was just high enough to make a person question their own ability and strength. For me, the other route that stands out was a V2 that I fell off of at least 30 times. It was a thin traverse that started low enough to feel safe falling on. The hands were slopers and required a low center of gravity to hold on to, the feet were friction only. After multiple attempts, I decided to try my less aggressive trad shoes, I sent on the first try! It's finish was a terrifying high step, and throwing for a very small indention some may call a "dish."
Great Day! Madison had a blast! I thought this was a great place to take a beginner boulderer like Madison!
This was a meetup event organized by my friend: Climb, Alex (at least that is his name in my phone ;))

Got out of the house again and played on various V0's.. all same ones as before. This time sent the one to the right of the Wave much more easily, but struggled on The Bucket. Attempted Syphillis Traverse but was running out of energy and lats acting up again.

Came up with a few friends for the day for my first outdoor bouldering!

Ended up doing a couple routes on The Wave (a V0 and V0-) before heading up to another area for one last V0. Took it easy and just played photographer after that since I was also climbing the next day. It was a fun first time out. The granite here is pretty nice, though if you climb on it a lot you'll definitely want to tape up!
