I started from the north end of FR10 and took a horse trail to the west. I saw this trail labeled on Trailforks as possibly a continuation of the Bush Trail, but I'm not sure. I took this trail until it faded away and then followed a wash southbound. Once it got too shallow and choked, I got out and found another horse trail. I kept southbound until I found a dirt road and took that back to FR10, completing a loop. I'm not sure if the road I found at first was FR3554, but eventually it became that road or met it somewhere. Didn't see any other hikers, bikers or horse riders. I saw 2 quail hunters on FR3554 and then some ATV riders on FR10.

This turned out to be a nicer hike than I expected. The off trail parts were pretty easy to hike and it was easy enough to find the actual horse trails. The higher up you get as you go farther south the views get much nicer. Weather was warmer than it's been, but still very mild.

Started from the north end by Blue Point along the Bush Highway. Hiked in about 5.3 miles and turned around. I had shade for most of the first 3 miles then had to put my hood up. It seemed kind of hot at first once the sun hit, but then it seemed not so bad once the sun drenched everything.

I was the only hiker for this one, just saw people in side by sides, 4WDs, and one mountain biker. Once you get into the heart of the canyon the scenery really becomes nice. the power lines detract from it a little, but not too much.

Once I was done there was a group of Forest Service Law Enforcement cars at the trailhead that were starting to escort 3 Mercedes bus limos up FR10. The one officer asked me if I saw any snakes.

Nothing big or notable happened, other than cooler than expected temps, which was very welcome.

I set out from the FR10 South Entrance trailhead to hike the Bulldog Canyon Loop official route clockwise, which I did with some variations. I hiked a bit down canyon when I hit the canyon, then retraced my steps to head up canyon. I continued up canyon into Bulldog Wash beyond the loop turn-off and then hiked cross-country to eventually join back up with the Official Route. While off trail, I saw three deer, including a very nice buck. I saw a few ORVS, two of which were going to head down the canyon until they saw me and decided to stay on the road. There were pools of water in various places in the lower canyon, but nothing was flowing.
