Cloudy when we left Vancouver this morning but the weather could not have been better on the mountain. Nice widl flowers at the start of the trail as well as great views of Mt. St. Helens. Not far from connection with the Loowit trail snow appeared. Since my wife didn't have her trekking poles we decided not to risk it on the snowy slopes. But we had great views of Ranier, Adams, Hood and of course Mt. St. Helens. Lots of bikers and hikers on the trail today. Had wanted to get to the plains of Abraham but will have to try again. Definitely will do this hike again. Great views, nice trail, nice weather - can't beat that day! |
