This hike delivered! We hiked from the south trailhead to Maple Grove campground. Driving across the damn, all we could see was white on both sides as the clouds/fog had settled in over the lake. When we got to the turnoff for Anderson Point, the sun was trying to come out but the clouds/fog were still thick. A little before Maple Grove the sun had worked its magic and the mountain was out. We had lunch on the beach at Maple Grove. Just us and the mountain. Couldn't ask for a better spot to eat and soak in the views. Great views of Mt. Shuskan as well. We saw a father and his daughter near the trailhead on our way back -- the only people we saw out on the trail the entire day. |
