Belated post. Travel day in Oregon. As we were driving the coastal highway we stopped at the Cape Meares Lighthouse. It was getting late in the evening so we didn’t get a chance to walk the scenic trail, but we did visit the lighthouse and the “octopus tree”. The time of day and a light drizzle led to few visitors so we were able to enjoy the lighthouse and sea views with little difficulty. The tree was very unique and worth the short walk.

We did not get to do the scenic trail that is associated with this lighthouse. It was a bit removed from the lighthouse and we were unsure of the distance and short on time.
