I was not sure how I would do hiking at this elevation, but all worked out great. Spent two days doing non-hiking activities to help get acclimated and started with a short easy hike. This hike starts at the parking lot at the Lake Jackson Lodge. We went to the pond and then a bit further. Average of the high/low elevation on this hike was 6900 feet.average hiking speed 2.31 mph
