| no partners | | Belated post. Once again, I wasn’t going to mention this stop until I saw that it was in HAZ. We had spent the night at Depoe Bay with the hopes of shoreline whale watching. But it was an incredibly wet and windy day, making for some rough surf and bad visibility. It’s unfortunate, because this was really high on my wife’s Oregon “to do” list. It did get on the road quicker and our first stop was the Devil’s Punchbowl.
This is really a road side stop. No hiking is needed. Very unique rock formation. Got a few pictures. The wind was driving the rain so hard it felt like sand was being blown into my eyes. There were a couple of nearby stores that my wife hit, but not much that would keep you for any length of time. Nice feature/place to visit. Take in the site, grab some refreshments and be on the road in under an hour. Because of the weather and the early hour, we had the place to ourselves. |
