Snowshoe trip with my sister and parents to the nearby national park. We used to go snowshoeing along one of the rim trails every Christmas. Crater Lake is fed by snow melt and general precip, so high snow levels are important for the lake's ecosystem. Average snow depth is 139 inches. The Lake receives an average of 505 inches/year.
...and now I live in Arizona

Great short day hike at Crater Lake National Park. Park near the lodge and walk along the paved rim trail past the lodge (heading east). Shortly after passing the lodge, the trail turns to dirt and the climb begins! Great views reward you after a short time. The views keep getting better as you get higher along the trail.
