Original plan was to check out Pedernales Falls on the way into Austin, but it was a hot day and everybody had the idea to go swimming, so we got turned away and headed to the LBJ historic park as a consolation prize. Came back on the 31st.

First, walked to Pedernales Falls. Not really what we'd call falls out west, but it was still a pretty place with lots of blue pools in limestone tanks. Took the long way back via the Pedernales Falls trail system.

Next, headed over to Coyote Crossing trail, and walked that to the campground before doing the Twin Falls nature loop. As far as nature loops are concerned, this one was pretty legit. The falls weren't super impressive, but it was a nice lush location that would be nice if you were allowed to leave the trail.

Made our way over to Hamilton Pool, but apparently they're very strict about not letting you start early. So we stopped at Reimer Ranch and walked around for a bit, taking the climber's access route below the cliff band. Some nice views of the Pedernales River and some hanging garden springs in the climbing area... Not bad considering they let you apply the Reimers Ranch entrance fee towards your Hamilton Pool entry, so it's actually free.

Finally, we made it to Hamilton Pool, which was cool I guess. Probably wouldn't be much of an attraction if it were in the Rockies.

Hit Jester King Brewery on the way back to Austin, which is a fun little diversion itself, having a nature trail and a goat petting zoo on the premises. Definitely a mandatory stop if you're headed out to the Pedernales River...
