Made my way up Herman Creek Trail #406 and dropped in at Camp Creek. There was a nice flow and after about 15 minutes of bushwhacking I arrived at the first of 4 drops. This is a very small canyon and all the drops come in very rapid order, one right after the other. I linked the first 2 drops into one rappel using 200' of rope that just made it to the bottom. All drops had webbing anchors already in place, most of it looked decent, but the webbing above R3 was pretty sloppy and looked pretty beaten, so I replaced it. Water was cold, but a short wetsuit was sufficient. Highest water encountered was chest deep in Herman Creek on the way back. |
