From there we passed Myrtle Falls and took the Skyline trail until it met the Lakes trail. We took that trail all the way to Reflection lakes and then took the Wonderland trail back to Narada Falls for a loop of about 6.75 miles. This loop worked well as most of the elevation gain was in the first 1.2 miles to Paradise. There was a short climbing section along the Skyline trail but otherwise the rest of the hike was primarily downhill. Views were excellent today. Crowded at times along Skyline trail but our time on the Lakes trail was largely void of other hikers. Saw deer, chipmunks, a weasel and pikas. Surprised we didn't see any marmots but we got our fill the last time at Paradise. Views were superb and we even snagged a great lunch spot on a bench at Reflection Lakes. Could not ask for a better day on the mountain. |
