This area is part of the Guy W. Talbot State Park so after I did the Falls loop, I did a little loop on the other side of the highway. The waterfalls (lower and upper) were sweet and it was nice to hike in an unburned area this time. Just could not get over the green, the moss, the lichen, all the different flora with some wildflowers still going, the trees and did I mention all that green? Spring greens were hanging in there too. The old growth forest is just unlike anything I had ever experienced and it was magical. I could only imagine that some of the other hikes I did could look like that also, if they hadn't burned. 920 AEG as the official seems high, so I went with the number I got. |
