Rainy day hike along Lewis River Trail to check out the Bolt Camp Shelter. Temperature in the mid 40s, drizzled off and on all day. Only saw 1 person on a mountain bike the entire time I was on trail.

Not the most exciting trail, especially approaching the shelter from the east side. The shelter itself is interesting, and might be a fun destination for a winter hike/backpack since you could camp inside and be out of the elements, but I would only consider hiking in from the west (which is also significantly shorter). While the western portion of the trail hugs the river bank and passes multiple smaller campsites, the eastern section of the trail keeps a bit more distance from the river and is pretty boring. It's a very lush forest, especially in spring, but not enough to justify the extra distance to reach the shelter.

First time hiking with my Virga 26 pack. Loaded up with about 8lb base weight + water/food, it was SUPER comfortable and I almost forget that I am wearing it.
