Started just before 1700 by the dam and hiked counter clockwise. Tried to keep a quick pace since the day use parking said it closed at 2200, but I kept stopping to fish (in retrospect, I should have waited until I reached the more secluded north shore of the lake where the water was calmer). Really wasn't expecting this to be that interesting, but I really enjoyed it. Fun little area. Added an extra mile to the loop by hiking out to Little Crater Lake which was TOTALLY worth it. Crazy to look straight down into perfectly clear water that drops 40+ feet and be able to see the bottom like its just a couple feet away. Ended up running the last 5 miles or so, had enough light for about 45 minutes, but then had to use my headlamp. Got back to my truck with 10 minutes to spare :y:
