The second HURT race of the season! We passed 2 alarmed groups of backpackers on the trail (where were they going?! Training, perhaps), but otherwise the paths were pretty clear! And by clear I mean muddy. Very very muddy. It rained for the vast majority of the race, and started downright pouring in the last few miles, while I was running through a bamboo forest-- it was magical, I couldn't stop grinning! :] I walked a pretty good portion of this, as the trails were pretty steep and/or technical for running (for me, anyhow. I tend to err on the side of not falling into a 100-foot gulch). Very fun, and there were delicious muffins afterwards! Oh, and Jared won some hard-earned jellybeans for finishing 5th :)

I was on my own without a car for the day, so I spent the better part of the morning planning out my route, including bus travel and walking to and from the trails. It was quite an adventure, but I think the photos can tell the tale better than I can :)
