| no partners | | After our Hanging Gardens walk, and lunch at Fiesta Mexicana -- on the patio despite hurricane force winds -- I walked the northern part of the Page Rim Trail, figuring to get some good photos of the Colorado River, Glen Canyon Dam and the bridge. The views of the Colorado River were indeed beautiful, but the dam and bridge were so small, especially in relation to the relatively short distance from the rim, that they really did not look good in the pictures at all. Certainly not worth posting. That is before I d the photos.
As to the trail itself, it disappeared in spots, or was hard to follow, especially where the http://hikearizona.com/gps=12110 lasso exits and rejoins the stem. It was no big deal -- you can't get lost there -- I just wanted to avoid traipsing across country. There was also two very massive cairns on the loop. I laid down on my stomach to contrast one against the blue sky, and make it appear even more massive. A jogger stopped to ask if I was okay. That seems to happen to me a lot. Do I really look that much like I am doing Fred Sanford on the trail? |
