Parked at Artist Point and hike the Ptarmigan Ridge Trail to The Portals East Peak. Several short sections of snow on the trail still. Saw mountain goats on nearby hillside. The clouds were too low and thick to see the summit of Mount Baker.

Second weekend in a row with beautiful weather. After hiking Park Butte a few weeks ago and not being able to see Mt. Baker at all, we headed north for what we hoped would be great views and we were not disappointed. Of course we were joined by hundreds of other hikers on the trail today. Hiked 5 miles in along Ptarmigan Ridge. Great views of Mt. Baker and Mt. Shuksan. Took over 130 pictures. I've got a lot that look pretty much the same but we couldn't just get enough. Saw pikas and goats from a distance. Our first visit up to Artist Point was definitely a day to remember.
