Now, this is the HARDEST trip I have ever done. Maybe its just because I am super sore today but I do recall being scared and scatched out couple times on this trip which doesn't usually happen to me at all.

This is the official time/elevation profile although my fitbit counted way more miles and little bit more elevation gain. We started at the Shannon Ridge TH near Baker Lake on Friday morning and headed up towards Shannon Ridge. We setup a camp after roughly 5 hours of hiking with the views of Mount Shuksan, Baker and North Cascade Range.

SEGMENT TIME (HR) ELEVATION GAIN (FT)
Trailhead to Camp 5-6 3,800
Camp to Summit 5-6 2,600
Summit to Camp 2-3
Camp to Trailhead 3

From camp we started at about 3:30AM on Saturday morning. The approach over Sulphide Glacier took about 2 hours. We enjoyed beautiful sunrise. Ditched crampons and ace axes near the start of the Ridge. You can either go up Class 3-4 gully or Class 5.6 summit ridge. We went up the ridge and down the gully. The climb over the ridge took about 2 hours. Pretty technical with breathtaking views and few scares. Arrived at the summit at 9AM. From the summit we went down the gully via series of downclimbs without the rope and rappels. It was pretty busy and we had to wait for people to descend. Got back to the camp around 2PM. We enjoyed some rest and hot dinner and hiked back to our cars. We arrived to the cars at 7PM and drove back home arriving to Portland at 2AM.

Difficulty: Basic Glacier Climb, Strenuous 3, Technical 2 (I would grade it harder)
Length: 16.0 mi
Elevation Gain: 6,500 ft
High Point: 9,127 ft
