About a week ago, on February 22 and 23, Art Christiansen and I camped for one night near the Toney Ranch Cabin in Haunted Canyon. We hiked in and out on Trail 203 from FR278A, which is in pretty good shape except for one fallen tree near Grapevine Spring. Haunted Canyon Creek was flowing, so we purified that water because it was easier than getting water from the spring. We spent the two days installing the corrugated roof panels on the cabin and patching the gaps in the old section of the roof. With the new roof panels, the cabin should be secure from the weather for a while. Thanks to the HAZ hikers (Wally, Bruce, Andy, and Ralph) that helped carry that 90+ load of steel across the mountain on February 17. Jack Carlson
