I thought it was much better than the national park (bright angel to phantom ranch.) The hike to the campground is ok. But that is just the warm up.
Hike to the campground, about 10 miles. Leave most of your stuff there. Day hike to the colorado and back. Awsome!! Big horn sheep, large schools of trout. Endless pools and waterfalls. Mind blowing views. Make shift ladders, scrambling up small cliffs with hanging ropes in place. Several river crossings. The best hike I have ever done.
Hike out the next day. About 35 miles in 3 days. I reached the campround in 2.5 hrs from the top. 7 hrs to the colorado and back. 3.5 hrs back to the truck from the campground. If you only go to the campground and the falls near it than you have missed alot. |
