| no partners | | This hike starts off following a dirt road and then takes off on an easy cross-country route heading southeast. From topo maps I had chosen to go through what looked like the first easy place to cross the mountains. Looking back on the hike it would have been easier to walk another half mile or so before heading east and then northeast. Going over the mountains is more difficult than the trip along the bajada of course, but I found no need for long bypasses of obstacles. Once I left the dirt road the route is basically untraveled with no signs of human activity for a few miles. |
