Started this trail at about 8;20 AM. Fairly strenuous once you start to climb, about 1/4 of the way in. Very rewarding views almost immedialtely and you do feel that you are up on a ridge, which is important. Plenty of wildflowers blooming. The trail levels out at the end, and when you come to the sign at the end you can see down into Sabino Canyon to the floor. You can never really see down into Bear Canyon, though you do get some great views of the rock walls to the Southeast side of the canyon. Very excellenet view of thimble peak and the ridge leading to it. Really liked this trail and would do it again, next time would like to be at the top for the sunrise.

Pools were pretty full, Fast water flow over the falls. Wished I could swim, but too cold! Worth it to get to the pools, but the hike itself I give a "C". The last 1/3 of the hike is the best.

This was a short hike, about 45 minutes in, up the Agua Caliente Canyon to three pools, each had a tall waterfall and swimmable pools, but I am pretty sure they are seasonal. The bottom pool was quites deep, maybe 15-20 feet. The canyon is narrow, so we were shaded on the way in and out. Once you get to the falls/pools there is a way to climb up to the left. There were many places to relax/picnic. It is a very beautiful canyon with tall, smoothed, striated walls. Also there were many varieties of wildflowers in abundace. We spent about 3 hours total in the canyon, over an hour of which was just hanging out arounf the falls/pools. Very rewarding.
