We had to stop constantly because he was miserable, and the whining was more than I ever want to hear again. I go into nature for the peace!
Anyway, this is the prettiest hike I have done so far. The wildflowers and cactus are just amazing and the canyon walk is beautiful. There are many stream crossings but at this time of year hardly any water in them. We went up to Maiden Pool area and took a good 1 hour break. If you get down on your stomach and look in the pool water it is amazing what you see living there, plus the rocks are nice and warm against your body. I actually got a little chilled in the shaded areas where we stopped to rest.
At this time of year, I think this would be a great hike to take out of town guests on so they can experience a great mountain hike with lots of beauty. |
