| no partners | | This is a great hike to do in the snow! It is one of the best, widest and easy to follow trails that I know of. In fact, the only time I've done this hike so far was in the snow - and it was awesome! I recommend this for a snow hike because the trail is so easy to follow (except at the very top, from the saddle to the peak itself). Even if the trail is covered in snow, it's so well-defined that it's still relatively easy to follow. Better yet, if someone has done the trail before you and left their tracks in the snow, you can follow their tracks. It does get difficult to follow at the very top, however. I would not recommend trying this trail in the snow until you've done it once w/o snow - or unless you have someone's tracks to follow. Also, it is very important to keep in mind that the snow will just about double the amount of effort that the hike requires, so you'd better be up for it... Dress WARM, bring extra socks, and water-resistant shoes and pants are recommended to avoid frostbite. Enjoy! (and BE CAREFUL!!) |
