Great Hike! We went the Third week of Oct hoping to see alot of leafs changing colors but most had already fallen. It is a struggle getting up the Abineau Canyon. When you think that you can't go any further, you reach the junction. The view from the Junction is awesome. We couldn't see the Grand Canyon due to the smog. :-( But you could tell where it was. It junctions to a old water pipe service road. It is a wonderful wide road that leads around and dips into 2 other canyons before you reach the other trail If you are going to do the loop, DO THE ABINEAU TRAIL FIRST. The entire way down, we kept saying how happy we were that we did it first. The Bear Jaw trail would be HARD to do first. Because once you reach the Road it is still up hill for quite some time. Other then that, it was Awesome. We saw about 10 deer. We heard a Coyote the night before. We also got some great bird pictures. We did take our time and stop at the top for about 40 min. I'm sure that we could have done it much more faster but we planed to enjoy most of the day up there. Enjoy!
