| no partners | | This was an ok hike for the city. The begening was extremely crowded when you leave the parking lot. The first half mile being paved was a little tiresome as well, this is hiking and nature why is it paved? When we got to the junction of of the telegraph and desert classic we choice the desert classic because their was less people. We made it a little over half way to the end and started up the mountain to connect with the national trail however my companion was getting tired and wanted to turn around. The only thing i didn't like about the trail other than the urban setting was it gets narrow in some places and that makes it hard when mountain bikers come through, you are forced of the path until they pass. |

| no partners | | This was a fun hike at night. The moon was out and the trail was extremely easy to find until we reached the saddle. Once we dropped over the back side of the saddle we lost the trail and did some trail blazing up a ridge along side a cliff to a plateau with a lone pine tree that over looked the needle. This looks to be an awesome camping location for those who do not want to hike to far into the wilderness. I plan on going back but i want to extend this hike all the way to the canyon lake trail head. |

| no partners | | I didn't get to far as a storm was coming in fast and i did not have the proper gear with me. However it was a nice hike. the trail follows the contour of them mountains as it winds its up and around the mountains. the trail is well defined and looking at the map it connects to a large amount of other trails the farther back you go. I am planning a trip back to this location soon to take it much farther and see what i can explore |
