Parking is always easy at AZ Snowbowl. Was trying out a heavier pack to practice for the GC. Great hike. The trail is super easy to follow. Busting out of the trees onto the saddle is a highlight. Dogs did great and other hikers were great with them. Rained the last hour or so.

Great hike. Small picnic area with somewhat limited parking. Got to the trailhead around 740, started up the trail around 8. Initially, it felt like a lot of people, but the foot traffic thinned out as we got further from the picnic area. The first 2.5 miles to the saddle were nice and easy. Trees generally provided good shade but blocked the view. After the saddle, there's a couple set of switchbacks that are a lot harder/narrower than the rest of the trail. The last mile or so from baldy saddle to the peak is amazing.

My only regret is that we didn't start earlier. Sun really started beating down around 11. Went through about 4.5 liters of water between me and the dog. Dog loved it, though.

"Tricked" the wife into joining me on this one. Road is a fairly well-maintained forest road. I would never do it w/o a high clearance vehicle, but I did see one sedan out there.

First 2.25 miles is easy, around 1000 feet elevation gain in that time. The chute is tough. Lots of using your upper body and hugging the rocks. Busier than I've ever seen it. View from the top is a treat.

I left my dog at home reluctantly, but it was the right call. You may be able to get your dog up if it's very small or you have some friends to help. I knew my wife wouldn't want to be wrestling our 60-lb golden up the chute, though.

Great hike. Arrived a little before 9. I missed the TH at first. Had to backtrack. It's hidden on like an inlet off of Kofa Queen Canyon Rd. I don't think I would have found it without help from the posters on here. It's about 10.75 miles from where you turn off of 95S. The road brings you by Skull Rock, which is worth stopping to look out.

At the TH, there's some metal fenceposts that indicate the way. I had a difficult time staying on the trail at first. Wasn't quite sure I was on it for the first half mile or so. At that point, the elevation starts in earnest and you can see the trail a little easier. There's a lot of scrambling and elevation gain for a little more than a mile before it gets rocky. Keep watching for cairns.

I got distracted by sheep and lost the trail again, but, man, were the sheep cool. After a couple wrong guesses, found the summit log on Signal Peak. Walked to the solar panels just for fun.

The view from the top was worth every step. Finished just before noon and the overhead sun was heating up the desert.

First county high point of the year. Gate is a little hard to notice on the south side of the 60. Easy drive to the trailhead. High-clearance recommended, but road isn't that rough.

Started around 8 and was in the shade for 2/3 of the way up. Starts pretty easy in a rocky wash, but the last three miles probably gain ~2500 feet. trail was easy to follow. There's some cool old mining stuff scattered throughout the hike. Very desolate. Only saw one other hiker. Views on the top are sweet. Dog loved it.
