Took five 11 year old scouts through the cave (went to the library and back). Took car which did fine (probably wouldn't if it was raining or rained recently). Learned that when you get to the T in the cave (literally the only T that I know of) both ways will take you to the library. Cave was mostly dry, everyone had fun going down the slide and through the birth canal. Would recommend bringing a garbage bag to help haul-out trash.

Camped at Bear Canyon Lake. Water was fun to swim in and apple tree at main inlet had edible apples.

Took group of 11 year old scouts to swim at fossil creek. Voted best trip every. Water a bit cold until sun came out. Two other groups there when arrived ~9AM twenty when we left at about ~2PM. Parked at bottom and found two great pools within the first mile (followed creek not trail).

Took a group of scouts on the rim to Bear Canyon Lake. This is a popular destination and a great place to get into the forest. I prefer to camp along RD 208 which has a trail to the head of the lake. Still a few patches of snow in the shade. A few swam in the lake but it was cold. Only found a few crawdads but have gone when warming and they are all over in the shallows (great boiled).

Took a group of 11 year old scouts and camped at the Gilbert Riparian Area. Area is clean and quite at night. Scouts had fun birding, fishing, and exploring the trails. Great destination during the winter that is in Phoenix's backyard.
