| no partners | | I appreciate the input on this hike from others. I and five of my hiking friends did this hike on 3/29. The trail is very over-grown what with all of the winter rains. The Brittle Bush and wildflowers are spectacular. This trail was really challenging to say the least. As documented by others the first part, up to the second saddle, is fairly easy to follow what with all of the large cairns. After that its a crap shoot especially now with the heavy growth to find a track to the top. Thanks to another poster's GPS route we found a route to the top. Coming down was a real challenge. The loose rock caused several of us to fall and sustain a few cuts and scrapes but nothing serious other than our pride. I think this trail would be easier to navigate in the winter when its cooler and less covered in vegetation. A great hike but we all were tired after the steep climb and trek back. |
